What is Sound Healing or Frequency Healing and the 3 Ways of Incorporating it into Your Daily Routine

Sound healing is quickly becoming a rising topic amongst the mainstream population. While it may seem like a novel therapeutic concept to many of us, it has been used for centuries in many parts of the world.

The ancient Greeks used music as a form of sound healing that could cure mental disorders. Along with healing the body, it was also believed that different sound frequencies could lift your mood and boost morale.

In essence, these frequencies can move us to a place of balance from imbalance. Incorporating them into your daily life can have a big impact on many aspects of your being. Let’s have a look at what frequency healing really is and how it can become a part of your routine.

What is Sound Healing or Frequency Healing?

Sound healing or frequency healing is a type of sound wave therapy. The process of sound healing is used to induce calm, peacefulness, and a state of ease in the body. The healing process involves the utilization of different sound vibrations to relax your mind.

The act of frequency healing is commonly used to improve many facets of your life, including the emotional, spiritual, social, and psychological.

This method of healing rests on the belief that sound has therapeutic properties. As such, it can produce vibrations that alter your brain waves. As a result of these alterations, you can experience de-stressing responses throughout the entire body.

Think about it. Chances are you may have experienced soothing sensations as a result of listening to your favorite song as well.

We play music at our funerals, at our weddings, and at our parties. Sounds are really what connect humans belonging to different cultures on a deeper level and bring them together.

When it comes to sound therapy, the healing can happen differently for everyone. Some people find improved musical acts or chanting more relaxing whereas some of us prefer to meditate or play relaxing instruments.

There are also a variety of professional methods that a patient can undergo to lower their anxiety and stress levels. Practitioners often use specifically crafted sounds to prompt positive brainwaves and help relieve patients of their worries.

Benefits of Sound Healing

There are many issues that sound healing can help with. While there is not a ton of study to support sound healing’s therapeutic properties, the research that has been conducted is promising.

For instance, a study conducted in 2006 revealed that people who listened to music felt less pain and experienced reduced anxiety as compared to those who didn’t.

With that said, some of the most commonly reported benefits of healing frequency by people are:

·       Reduced stress

·       Fewer mood swings

·       Lower anxiety levels

·       Increased feelings of calmness

·       Better sleep

·       Improved memory

·       Lowered blood pressure

3 Easy Ways to Incorporate Sound Healing into Your Daily Routine

1. Sound Bath

A sound bath is a meditative experience that involves the use of wind and percussion instruments to generate soothing sound waves. These traditional instruments can help with stress, depression, and fatigue.

To start off, take a few controlling breaths and block out all distractions. You can also perform yoga or meditation exercises of your choice before you begin.

You can then use a Tibetan singing bowl, gongs, chimes, and crystal bowls to help you relax. You don’t need to own all of these instruments to have a successful sound bath. Each tool produces its specific tone and it is all a matter of what sounds the best to you.

The most famous instrument is the Tibetan singing bowl. To use it, strike the edge of the bowl with a mallet and move it around gently at a slow speed. Focus on the sound it produces as the notes gently fade away.

Repeat this action multiple times over the course of your sound bath session. Try maintaining a low rhythm so that you can reap maximum benefits from your sound bath.

Carrying a sound bath session by yourself is simple enough. However, if you prefer, you can always hire a practitioner who can then use a variety of instruments in unison to create relaxing sounds.

2. Binaural Beats

Binaural beats is a type of sound therapy that involves using two slightly different tones as a way to de-stress. These tones are played simultaneously in each ear.

As the tones are extremely similar, our mind perceives them as one and creates a third tone of its own which is relaxing and soothing.

Binaural beats usually range from .1 to 100 hertz. The lower-level beats help promote sleep, meditation, and relaxation whereas the higher-level sounds support focus and concentration and help lift the mood.

The best way to incorporate binaural beats into your life is actually YouTube. You will find a ton of binaural videos that you can listen to on the platform ranging anywhere from short 10- to 15-minute clips to 40- to 50-minute-long videos.

All you need to make it a part of your routine is to grab a pair of headphones, your favorite video, and a quiet environment.

3. Your Own Voice

The most basic yet effective of instruments to help you heal is your own voice. Yes, you can use your voice to make sounds that will help put you in a state of calm.

As with binaural beats and the sound bath, you would require a quiet space where you can do this with ease. Doing this as part of your meditation session works wonders, too. Once you have set the environment, all that is left to do is to try and make different sounds and see which one you like best that puts you at ease.

There are a number of various ways you can approach this. You can try humming, chanting, singing, or even praying in this endeavor. Saying a simple mantra or affirmation in a calming voice can also go a long way in setting your mood right. It is all up to you.

While the world may be full of fascinating instruments that have been designed to promote healing, it is important to remember that there is nothing quite like your very own voice.

In essence, you carry the power to heal yourself with you!
